I don't know if these "Personal Computation Stations" or "Computers" are ever going to take off. They're talking about them being the wave of the future, but I just don't see it. A "Computer" on every desk? What on earth for?

If there was some kind of high-speed international network (an "internetwork" if you like) that connected these "Computers" to one another, and if that network provided access to all kinds of news about the recent activities of attractive actresses, perhaps with images included, then I can see there being some demand.

Or if these "Computers" had some kind of interactive display that allowed children or T-Shirt wearing adults to engage in a primitive form of electronic play, similar to that "Pong" thing that was all the rage a few years back, then perhaps they might find a niche market.

Maybe one day, in the far, far, far, far future, these "Computers" will be able to reproduce music in a similar fashion to the wax cylinders that we all have in our homes and recreational vehicles. Until then, I'm afraid you can count me out.

Can you imagine a dark future where these electronic boxes connect innocent consumers to predatory T-Shirt salesmen, with strange names like "Busted Tees", who force them to purchase T-Shirts with amusing words and images printed on them? Perhaps these T-Shirts would extol the virtues of these machines by portraying them in an amusingly archaic fashion. "Computers"? More like "Devilputers", say I!
