Ah, the Machella, the ONLY way to travel. Imagine being carried by African natives through the jungles of Africa on a litter with mosquito netting covering you for protection from the 'nasties', does it get any better than this??

Hacking your way across Africa, or rather having others do the hacking. All inclusive travel with meals included (Gaboon Viper again? Well yes, but more dark meat this time). Would guess river crossings might have been problematic, though.

Machella travel was the way to go in the 1800s in Africa. Although I doubt very much this was near Que Que as that is hardly jungle. It could have been in eastern Rhodesia or near Victoria Falls, or perhaps in the northeren reaches of Northern Rhodesia near the Congo border.
