Like many people, I love a good game of "Rock, Paper, Scissors" or "Marble, Vellum, Dagger" as it was originally called in days of yore.

If you need a quick tie-breaker to decide who is going to pick a movie to rent, who gets to decide on a restaurant to eat at, or who gets to run and who has to make a heroic last stand against the encroaching alien menace in order to allow his companions to escape, "Rock, Paper, Scissors" is the easiest way to go.

The only problem is that it's so flinging, flanging hard to remember the rules! Does paper wrap rock, or does the rock tear a hole in the paper when you throw it? Normally I would say that scissors do cut paper, but I'm only allowed to use safety scissors that can barely cut through pudding, so I sometimes forget.

Sure, rock blunts most scissors, but what if the rock is a soft sedimentary rock like gypsum and your scissors are steam-powered, diamond-bladed super scissors from the future?

I did have a pair, but they took them away when they gave me these stupid safety scissors.

I have requested that the orderlies and other members of staff in this facility wear this Rock, Paper, Scissors T-shirt from those masters of mnemonics at BustedTees, so that I will be constantly reminded of the rules.

So far they have refused, but I have great hopes that I can force the issue by writing to several Senators. Not the ones who are secretly alien visitors from Plarnax 3, but ones that I can trust.
