Oh dear, this shouldn't be listed under China, the Siamese Post Office has nothing to do with China except send and receive letters from there.

, you will know of Siam, a land of good food, good beaches and cats.
Siam was about the only country in South East Asia never to have been colonized by the European powers. In 1939, Siam changed its name to Thailand (Land of the Free), allied itself with Japan and was taken over by them in due course.
We've all seen the film The Bridge on the River Kwai
, haven't we?
In 1945 Thailand reverted back to Siam, but on May 11, 1949 decided again on Thailand by which it has been known since.
Thailand is a very beautiful country, I spent some time there in 1973 at U-Tapao, a B-52 base during the Vietman War.
