When my mate Dave Smith from the Smiths (not THE The Smiths, vehicle of dismal crooner Morrissey, but the Smiths who lived next door on the estate at Grovehill West) first introduced me to The Sex Pistols, I admit that a lot of it went over my head.
I was only eight or nine at the time and even the rather obvious pun of the punk band's name was wasted on me, let alone such classic album tracks as "Frigging in the Rigging".
Still, even a mere slip of a boy like me could understand that Never Mind The Bollocks was rude and daring.
A lot has changed in the thirty years that have flashed past since, but wearing a Sex Pistols T-shirt: Never Mind The Bollocks is still a daring statement.
It does mean you won't be taken in the least bit seriously by fans of modern punk, wearing a dinosaur band's T-shirt and all, but people get away with wearing Beatles T-shirts, so why not?
Just try to resist the temptation to shave your head and tattoo SKINS or NF on your forehead with a broken plastic BIC biro.
