Silent But Deadly T-Shirt
(BustedTees)
Ah, ninjas... Is there anything they can't make better? Mediocre movies, board games, card games, high school reunions, ice cream socials, video games, rehearsal dinners and code reviews: all better with ninjas.
The portrayal of ninjas in popular culture is problematic at the best of times. If the representation were to be truly realistic, then you would never see the ninja at all, just the effects of their actions.
Hypothetically speaking, if a realistic ninja were to appear in a television sitcom such as Friends, then the only evidence of a ninja passing would be Ross Geller's head rolling off his shoulders. There would be no scope for wordplay or banter with the ninja, because nobody would even know they had been there! The audience would be left confused and angry.
So we accept a certain reduction in ninja stealthiness for the sake of convenience. The ninja appears stage right, theatrically sneaks up behind Ross, decapitates him, sneaks back.
The event is observed by one of the other characters, who perhaps says something like: "Could that ninja be any more stealthy?" The audience laughs at the familiar phrasing and the evening's entertainment continues.
This Silent But Deadly T-Shirt from the always stealthy BustedTees
portrays a pop-culture ninja in all of his visible glory. The two key features that you have to remember about the ninja are included for your convenience: silence and deadliness. There is no implied fart joke whatsoever.
