It appears that some of you have forgotten exactly how insignificant you are in the grand scheme of things.

Some of you have been making "plans" and are following your "dreams", blithely ignoring the fact that you are tinier than a grain of sand compared to the vastness of the universe.

Let me draw you a picture. You see that galaxy there? That is composed of approximately 400 billion stars.

That is a very large number. That's more stars than there are dollars in Bill Gates' wallet. That's more stars than there are people. That's more stars than there are reasons not to see the next Scary Movie.

The Sun is just one of those four hundred billion and next to the Sun, the Earth is a barely significant ball of mud. It's like a pea next to frozen pea factory. As if that wasn't enough, this enormous galaxy is only one of around 80 billion galaxies in the observable universe.

OK, the next time you are tempted to leave the house and "do stuff" or "achieve something", study this You Are Here T-shirt from those purveyors of cosmic perspective at ThinkGeek. Stay inside and watch television. Look at funny pictures of cats on the Internet. DO NOT STRIVE!
